Talks from  current broadcast journalism professionals are vital – both to give the students a better insight into the current state of the industry and as an opportunity to make contacts.

In the last few weeks we’ve had visits here in Hamilton from Alasdair MacLeod, Executive Editor, News at BBC Scotland, from Tom Conner, head of Sports News at BBC Scotland and from Catherine Brown, an ex-student how now works for MacMillan Media, which among other things, produces the news for GMTV in Scotland.

There will be a further programme of visits next semester.
